About Us

The Company

Luigi Strata
Our Company has been in the field of Freight Forwarding since three generations, specializing in the import of textile materials (from raw materials such as yarn and raw fabrics, to finished garments), arriving from major overseas producers, destined to Italy or other European countries. This specific sector (that accounts for aproximately 80% of our yearly business) has enabled us to acquire a very high level of competence.

Luigi Strata estabilished the activity of Customs Broker and Freight Forwarder at the beginning of the 1940's. Subsequently joined by his two sons and recently by his nephew Luigi Enzo, the company continues its activities having gained over seventy years of experience in this field.

A full service
from the Producer to the Customer

We handle all kinds of logistics, from the Producer warehouse, to the Customer's address including any requested intermediate transactions. In fact, other then the usual operations we also able to offer a warehouse service for both EEC nationalized and foreign goods. These types of services are particulary useful for those Customers that do not have a sufficiently large space for stocking, or for those companies whose activities are mainly or entirely commercial.

In order to offer an all-round service, we are active in Genoa - our headquarters - and in the following ports: Vado Ligure, La Spezia, Leghorn, Civitavecchia, Naples, Salerno, Gioia Tauro, Palermo, Cagliari, Taranto, Ancona, Ravenna, Venice, Trieste.

According to the final destination of the goods, the most convenient port of call will be decided together with our Customer. This limits internal transport costs to the minimum available.

Warehouse service

in Northern Italy Rivalta Scrivia (Alessandria)

Our storage facilities are located in Rivalta Scrivia (AL), an area that is logistically strategic for Northern Italy.

Customs storing

Thanks to the possibility of offering customs storing, we can offer our Customers to nationalize their goods, even in partial quantities, according to their necessity; this option is particulary interesting, because in this way the importer will pay only the amount of customs duty related to the quantity of goods being dealt with.

Fiscal representations

for foreign Companies

We offer fiscal representation to thouse Foreign Companies "not domiciled" (that is with no permanent establishments in Italy) that wish to carry out Customs clearance in Italy and trade their own extra-European products in our Country.

Italian VAT

Our task is to obtain an Italian VAT code, a fiscal address and VAT accounts book. In fact the domiciliated Company will adhere to the Italian VAT norms only, whereas taxation of the revenues will be carried out in their own Country.
